The AGA and the American Asia Culture Exchange Association have announced a new youth tournament to take place Jan. 21 in Los Angeles. The one-day, four-round event is being sponsored by AACEA and its founder, California go enthusiast Jingwei Zheng, and supported by The Korea Daily newspaper. Children and teen-agers aged 17 and younger on the date of the tournament may play in the rated event. Prizes, including trophies, will be awarded in up to four rank divisions, along with other special prizes such as youngest player; it expected about 30 kids will attend. 首届大道杯青少年围棋赛于2017年1月21日在美国洛杉矶举行，40位17岁以下的青少年棋手参赛，比赛按水平分为段位组、级位组和入门组各进行了4轮比拼。每组前3名都分别获得奖杯和奖状。
此外，还设了家庭奖、最小年龄奖、特别奖等多个奖项，每一位棋手都获得参赛证书。
美国围棋协会主席AndyOkun出席了闭幕式并为获奖棋手颁奖。
这是洛杉矶华人新春贺岁的传统比赛项目之一。
随后，2017大道杯美国南加州围棋公开赛将于2月25日、26日在同一比赛地点进行。
主办方负责人Kevin招继德先生是位在大洛杉矶地区橙县主持了30年工作的资深围棋协会会长。他说：祝贺大道杯青少年围棋比赛的成功举办，很高兴在洛杉矶第一次看到这么多孩子在一起下围棋。
根据参赛与新移民增加的人数来推算，本月的公开赛规模会再创新高。美国围棋协会与林雪芬（中国广东籍职业棋手）等多位围棋老师常年的推广工作已经初见成效。
赞助方郑经卫先生表示，将会一如既往支持围棋事业。
这次比赛依然会邀请韩国的职业高手金明完九段下多面打指导棋并复盘讲解。
