The four-round AGA rated handicapped event was sponsored by Jingwei Zheng. Fourteen-year-old Yi Wang 6D (below, left), of San Diego, won the top section. He is a seasoned tournament player with 7 to 8 years of playing experience.

A skill mastered to the extreme becomes an art, and an art that flourished develops into a culture. The resulting culture is invincible. This is the doctrine of learning.
However, invincible cultures are marked by an exclusiveness that contains great uncertainties.
Never in history had our wise ancestors supported the nurturing of tyrannical culture. Their murmuring whispers had always pointed to the path of tolerance rather than the path of uniformity. That is a wisdom forever worthy of celebration and praise.
Taking the opportunity of sponsoring the only Chinese-funded Go tournament in Southern California, our association focuses on expanding the potential for multiple types of culture exchange between North America and Asia. They include music, painting, literature, sports, tourism and production of films & TV programs.
Our ultimate goal is to benefit people from both continents through our endeavors. Though our own power is insufficient, we AACE Association, in this blessed era of peace and prosperity, would like to contribute to the grand effort made by people who share this dedication and ideals from all over the world.
